During the first month of 2024, more than USD 600 million in liquidity will flow into the market through token unlocking. Aptos (APT), Injective (INJ) and Optimism (OP) are the top three with the most vacancies.
The holiday season is over and crypto projects are about to unveil their massive token. As the tokens are unlocked, many previously locked tokens will come into circulation.
Therefore, this increases the supply of the token, which can negatively affect the price.

Aptos has scheduled a launch of 24.84 million APT tokens on January 12, 2024. These tokens represent 8.08% of the total supply.
The distribution of these tokens worth $234.76 million is as follows:
- The fund received 1.33 million tokens worth $12.60 million.
- 11.88 million tokens worth $112.22 million to major participants.
- Investors will receive 8.42 million tokens worth $79.61 million.
- 3.21 million tokens worth $30.34 million to the Aptos community.
Last month, on December 12, 2023, the project released the same number of tokens. In the screenshot below, you can see that the price of APT has dropped by 18.72% in the six days since it was unlocked.
Likewise, the price also drops after the token opens in November 2023.

The final discovery of the Injective sign
In the following screenshot, you can see that 96% of the INJ channel is unlocked. Finally, the final unlock will take place on January 21, 2024.
The project will unlock 3.67 million INJ tokens worth $136.73 million.
The distribution is as follows.
- Advisors will receive 333,330 tokens worth $12.43 million.
- 3.33 million INJ tokens worth $124.30 million to Tim.
Optimism at the end of January will release 2.65% of labor inventories
The screenshot below shows that Optimism will unlock 24.16 million OP tokens on January 30, 2024. $87.70 million worth of tokens will be awarded to:
- 12.75 million OP tokens worth $46.28 million to the team.
- 11.41 million OP tokens worth $41.41 million to investors
In addition, the project will linearly unlock 333,330 OP tokens every day for the next 90 days. Based on current market prices, the token is worth $1.24 million.

About 28 projects will launch tokens this month. Additionally, the market is awaiting a final decision from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on several bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
