Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Crossover Invades Apex Legends Next Week

Square Enix and Respawn Entertainment have announced an upcoming Apex Legends crossover game to celebrate the upcoming release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth .

The crossover event will begin next week, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and will last for three weeks.

During this time, Final Fantasy VII's Takeover mode will replace the unranked King of Battle mode in Apex Legends.

In the new mode, players will be able to wield the R2R5 Buster Sword, block projectiles, and attack with the powerful Limit Break.

The mode also features "Materia Hop-Ups" that provide effects such as area-of-effect rays or health drain. There is also a forgetful soldier.

If you want to play the role, you can use Wattson, Horizon, Wraith, Crypto, etc. You can get new skins.

It is part of a catalog of 36 limited cosmetic items inspired by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, including the Mythic Buster Sword R5, the first legendary cosmetic item that can be equipped to any character.

Skins can be unlocked using Apex Coins and you can get the rest of the series by purchasing event packs to get items from the Knockout collection.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29, 2024 for PS5 (you can now pre-order a physical copy on Amazon).
