Apex Legends Final Fantasy Death Box Costs $300

Apex Legends fans are unhappy with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth event. Starting January 9th, the new battle royale event will feature Final Fantasy's legendary Buster Sword, a Materia-based power-up that restores HP, generates lightning sparks, and unleashes a very aggressive Ness on the enemy. But as we all know, it's about new cosmetics, and they're more expensive this time.

Apex Legends introduces 36 new Final Fantasy-themed cosmetics, including a Moogle skin for Wattson, a Barrett Wallace skin for Newcastle (with a matching Spitfire skin), a Yuffie skin for Valkyrie, and a Horizon outfit. Disguise her as Aerith with a matching Charge Rifle skin, a Wraith skin that makes her closely resemble Tifa, and finally as a Crypto Loyalist inspired by FFVII cult hero Cloud.

However, the focus of the game's new battle royale event is the Buster Sword R5, a versatile mythical combat accessory that, unlike the Takeover mode-specific Buster Sword R2R5, has no magical abilities and can instead be equipped with Legacy or your fists.

However, the only way to obtain this cosmetic is through event-specific loot boxes, which have a drop rate of less than 1% each time they are opened.

However, there is another skin that looks great: the One-Winged Angel Death Box. These cosmetics decorate the box left by the legend after his death, adding visual and audio effects.

To obtain it, players will need to purchase all 36 cosmetic items in the event , including the Buster Sword, which requires over $300 worth of loot boxes for two full heirlooms due to its extremely low rate of fire.

User X (formerly of Twitter) points out that fans of the Final Fantasy-themed action game can create another action game for the same price. “For the same money I could fly to San Francisco and see a collection of Final Fantasy music live, including One Winged Angel.”

Now, players in the Reddit community are urging players not to purchase event packs (event-specific loot boxes) to stop Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts from pursuing these aggressive monetization methods in the long term.
