Crypto Community Reacts To Barbie Star Saying Bitcoin Talk Exudes Ken Energy

Australian actress Margot Robbie, who stars in the new Barbie movie, has caused a stir in the cryptocurrency community by saying her bitcoin (BTC) talk reflects her resemblance to Barbie's Ken.

Over the past 24 hours, the X (Twitter) crypto community, including MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor and social media influencer Laia Heilpern, have had mixed reactions to Robbie's bitcoin announcement in an interview with Fandango on June 22.

Robbie revealed that every time she heard her husband Tom Ackerley and TV producer David Heyman discuss Bitcoin on set, she would be reminded of the characterizations of Ken, the fictional character who starred in Barbie , played by Ryan Gosling.

“When David and Tom started talking about bitcoin or whatever, Greta and I said, “You are such a genius!

Following Saylor's assertion that Bitcoin is actually "Ken's big energy", several other crypto figures shared their thoughts on Robbie's comments.

Crypto influencer Leah Thompson, better known to her 225,000 Twitter followers as Girl Gone Crypto, said she was "so optimistic" after hearing Robbie talk about bitcoin.

Meanwhile, Laia Heilpern took a different take on Robbie's comments, suggesting that she took them as an insult to men talking about bitcoin.

On July 30, Heilpern explained to his 621,400 Twitter followers that Robbie called male Bitcoin lovers “weak and pathetic.”

However, Mark Travers, Awake Therapy's lead psychologist, suggested that Ken's energy could be a sign of his selflessness and ability to adapt to different situations.

Travers said in a July 13 Forbes report that Ken's character defies traditional gender stereotypes.

"In the universe that revolves around Barbie, Ken only has a supporting role and loves to play it," Travers said, adding:

"Barbie is, and above all, we see the male counterpart, Kenny, in a light-hearted and parodic manner, relegated to a one-dimensional and purely aesthetic role that women have often been limited to in the past."

Robbie said in an interview that it's hard to pinpoint what makes Ken or what exudes Ken's energy because it can be subjective.

“It's not something you can define. it's just something you can feel," Robbie said.

With a sense of optimism, Swan Bitcoin CEO Steven Lubka welcomed Robbie's comment as positive for the crypto community.

On July 29, Lyubka informed his 20,200 Twitter followers that "we are back".

Robbie's comments on bitcoin have been short and neutral as lawsuits are being filed against celebrities who have recently promoted the cryptocurrency.

Most recently, Miami Heat NBA star Jimmy Butler filed a billion-dollar class action lawsuit alleging that cryptocurrency exchange Binance is promoting unlisted securities.

On July 24, Butler's lawyers said that the tweets in which he appeared did not promote the headlines in question and therefore could not promote them.

Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, as well as YouTubers Ben Armstrong (BitBoy Crypto) and Graham Stefan also dispute the same claim.
