Crypto Investor Travel Guide: Miami

Miami has become one of the top destinations for the crypto and blockchain industry since Mayor Francis X. Suarez started paying in Bitcoin and declared the city the "crypto capital of the world." At last year's Bitcoin conference, Suarez made a bold statement by installing a robot bull with laser eyes. The gesture is intended to show optimism around cryptocurrencies and highlight the coastal city's vision to become a major fintech hub.

Miami now has its own cryptocurrency known as "MiamiCoin" and is emerging as a competitive tech hub, attracting workers from San Francisco and New York with its unique beaches, easy access to Latin America, and vibrant culinary and art scenes. "The future of finance is here in Miami," Suarez said.

It's easy to see the attraction. Miami has more real estate than New York, has no state income tax, and is more affordable with new property tax cuts. In 2021 alone, Miami attracted 2,061% growth in blockchain investments, according to Telstra Ventures.

Here's what you need to know to stay, eat and play in the city.
