Miami Art Week and Art Basel kick off this week and the mega-gathering is set to showcase the growth of digital art in the art industry and the evolution of Web3. Here are some of the key events taking place at Art Basel Miami 2022, focusing on issues related to non-fungible tokens.
Ape Water: An homage to Bored Ape Yacht Club's NFT collection, this water brand could be the talk of the town at Art Basel. For Art Basel 2019, Ape Water is recreating a mobile art installation based on popular banana and duct tape murals.
Participants who "find the project" can create a free Banana Truck NFT. The NFT will give utility owners access to Ape Water's water subscription and other rewards.

Ax Body Spray: Unilever 's (NYSE: UL ) popular body spray brand Ax teamed up with ONE37PM and 3D artist nes100pro to showcase an animated collection at Art Basel. A collector's ticket allows access to VaynerX's exclusive "V: The Experience" event. Ax is no stranger to the cryptocurrency space, having previously launched Dogecan, a body spray based on the popular Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) meme.
Pace: Art Gallery Company presents The Gateway: A Web3 Metropolis, an outdoor NFT exhibition in conjunction with Art Miami Week. Designs by Tara Donovan , John Gerrard and Loie Hollowell will be featured alongside featured artist Art Block NFT.
Doodle: NFT Collection Doodles will host several events at Art Basel, including DoodlePut, a nine-hole mini golf course that brings the Doodle universe to life. The event will be held on December 2 and 3 and is open to Doodle owners and the general public. Doodles has partnered with Shopify Inc (NYSE:SHOP) for tokenized items at the event, similar to its previous partnership at SXSW.
Goblintown: NFT Collection Goblintown by Truth Labs was one of the most talked about projects of 2022. The group presents (f)Art Basel: Reverse Heist, an immersive experience that celebrates and satirizes Art Basel. The event is open to Goblintown leaders and the general public.
The Gateway: NFT now presents The Gateway: A Web3 Metropolis in association with Art Basel. Over five days, the event will feature key brands and speakers in the NFT space, including Instagram, Christie's, Moonpay, Art Blok, RTFKT, Gary V and Beeple. The events will take place in 12 buildings in downtown Miami and help introduce NFTs to more people around the world.
Tezos: Blockchain Proof-of-Stake Tezos (CRYPTO: XTZ) launched its NFT exhibit “Performance of Code: Decrypting Value in Generative Art” at Art Basel. Tezos allows all viewers to run creative NTFs in real time as part of a presentation. The live event will take place December 1-3 at the Miami Convention Center. The exhibition will feature works by various artists and is a collaboration with generative art platform fxhash.
Punks Legacy Project: Yuga Labs acquired Larva Labs ' Cryptopunks and Mebits brands earlier this year. Parent company Bored Ape Yacht Club created the Punks Legacy Project to oversee various CryptoPunk donations to art museums around the world.
At Art Basel, Yuga Labs will highlight Cryptopunk #305, which will be installed at the Miami Institute of Contemporary Art and on display through the end of the year. This is CryptoPunk's first donation to the Yuga Labs program.
“Just as Jeff Koons and Andy Warhol fueled the renaissance of modern art, I hope CryptoPunks can pave the way for NFTs,” said Noah Davis , Brand Manager at CryptoPunk. "We think NFTs belong in museums and I'm excited to launch the Punks Legacy Project with ICA Miami and CryptoPunks #305."
